My husband makes me crazy. We’ll both go on a diet – usually after the holidays to get ready for bathing suit season – and by March he’s lost 20 pounds and I’m barely topping a 7 pound loss. And I eat less than he does! I started researching why weight loss for women is so much slower and learned it has to do with muscle continuing to burn fat even after exercising, and since men have more muscle their metabolism is faster. So that explains why they always say you must must must exercise to lose weight and keep it off: the muscle you build is what keeps it off! Darn. Just might have to drag it out and use it after all. We’re only 3 months from beach time and that bathing suit is going to be a horror on me at this point.
